Auty Signs for Leicester Lions for 2016

We are delighted to announce that Josh Auty makes a return to Leicester next season as one of the two Lions reserves and he will have a new race partner in Paul Starke. Auty made six Elite League appearances for Leicester before injury in May ruled him out and Starke was part of Poole’s Elite League Championship winning team last season. Co-promoter David Darcy who represented the club at the Elite Draft Reserve selection process on Tuesday said: “My priority was to secure Josh Auty first of all and I was pleased that when it came to making my second choice Paul Starke was available. With Josh and Paul that gives us a solid foundation at reserve to build upon now. The news was well received by David Hemsley and that gives him and Norrie Allan a great start to securing the riders to complete the main body of the team.”

Auty completes Scorpions switch

 Wednesday April 16, 2014
SCUNTHORPE have confirmed the full transfer signing of Josh Auty in a deal with Elite League Coventry.

Auty has been on loan to the Scorpions in the Premier League since 2012 and promoter Rob Godfrey believes he still has the potential to go to the top in the sport.

Godfrey said: “This has been on the agenda for some time - I’d been after buying Josh’s contract for a while, and I concluded business with Coventry last weekend. The last thing left was for Josh to sign, and that wasn’t a problem at all.

“I still think Josh will become a No 1 at Elite League level. He’s got a lot of speedway in front of him, and he’s a good investment. As a club, we have a good asset base, but we needed more top-line assets. Josh fits that bill.”
